Lesson Plan: Watercolor with Straws
Goal: To use straws and watercolors to create an abstract piece of art.
Materials:

Watercolor
-
Brushes
-
Water
-
Tape
-
Watercolor paper
-
Straws
How to prep:
Tape the edges of the paper so that you have a clean, crisp edge when you are finished. Make sure you have all the other materials and if so, you may begin.
Directions for students:
Explain how they will put some watercolor on the paper and use the straw to blow it around. You will want a lot of water with this project as it is much easier to blow the paint if its consistency is thin.
How it looks:
Helpful Hints:
If students have difficult time blowing with the straw, have them hold the paper up to their mouths and blow on the paint directly.
